Physician Assistants - Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NH

Varied Shifts/72 hours full time

We are currently seeking Physician Assistants for our Emergency Department and Urgent Care.

Emergency Department - Under the direction of the ED Medical Director, the Emergency Department Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) coordinates the health care needs of the ED patient population and provides appropriate direct patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of specific conditions. Performs diversified clinical, educational, research and administrative duties in support of urgent and non-urgent patients, physicians and nursing and paramedic staff. Participates in the development and achievement of the philosophies, goals, and missions of the ED and Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Volume in the ED is 40,000 cases per year. 

Urgent Care - Under the general direction of the Vice President of Physician Practice Services, the Physician Assistant functions in an expanded clinical role, through the application of advanced knowledge and skills to provide primary healthcare to patients in the walk-in center. The Physician Assistant functions in a collegial relationship with other providers in the delivery of medical care, working under the general direction of a supervising physician. In accordance with the New Hampshire Code of Administrative Rules & Regulations He-P 800 for a Non-Emergency Walk-In Care Center, CMS and applicable laws and regulations, the Physician Assistant will administer care in the walk-in center in a professional, efficient and ethical manner.

Position Qualifications:

  • Master of Science Degree or equivalent from an approved Physician Assistant Program.
  • Member of the FMH medical staff in good standing.
  • Current licensure and certification required by the State of New Hampshire to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum Experience Requirements: 3-5 years of previous Physician Assistant experience. 
  • Preferred Experience: 3-5 years of experience in ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting. Experience working in private practice, or independently within a walk-in care clinic setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Computer skills including keyboarding and mouse use.
